So you’d like to come to Porty Baptist? Great!
Here’s all you need to know about attending a service in person.
Getting Here
We’re located in the middle of Portobello’s High Street, just along from Bross Bagels and Greggs.
We’re easily accessible by most bus routes, including the… 12, 21, 26, 45 and 49.
If you’re cycling here, we’ve safe places you can store your bike - or you can lock it to one of the many cycle racks on Porty High Street. If in doubt, ask a member of our welcome team when you arrive.
We’re a stone’s throw (literally, if you’re strong) from the beach and many of our members enjoy a stroll along the promenade before/after the service. We do not enjoy swimming here, though: it’s a bit cold.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely! We have kids (link) and youth (link) groups that run during the service. We’re very happy to host your wee ones.
-
Clothes. Please! Beyond that, whatever you feel comfortable in. Our services our informal and relaxed, and whilst we try to stay trendy (salmon pink shirt, anyone??) we appreciate that someone’s “Sunday Best” is more about their character than their clothes.
-
Unfortunately not. There are a number of places to park in Portobello - including on the High Street and surrounding streets - but none of these are “Porty Baptist Only.”
